Bryce Canyon

Welcome to my new space! Isn’t she pretty?

The lengthy delay between my last post and this one was caused by two things: I ran out of space on wordpress.com, and this set of photos was like my personal editing nightmare (SO MUCH ORANGE). Good things came from this, though. I had always intended to upgrade my hosting and design, and the lack of storage over there forced me to get my butt in gear and make this place what I had originally intended it to be. I also made myself learn a few new editing tricks, a some of which I think are really making an impact here.

Enough about that, though–back to the trip! At the end of our first full day on the road (yes, everything you’ve seen so far was just from DAY ONE) we stayed just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park so that we could get right to it first thing in the morning. We woke up at sunrise, grabbed coffee and pop-tarts from the general store and took a few minutes to explore the little town outside of the park before making our way there. I am a total sucker for themed gift shops, and there was a particularly good one there. It was pretty much the only thing there, really, besides the lodge we stayed in and a Subway.

Alright, here’s the good stuff. My jaw literally dropped when I saw a few of these sights in person. Here’s Bryce Canyon.

The folks you see below were the only other people at this particular viewpoint, and they happened to also be from New Hampshire. The world is very small, my friends.

After we left the park, it was time to make the long drive through the rest of Utah. The state is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in our country. If you ever have the opportunity to drive up to I-70 from either Zion or Bryce, please do it. I could have stopped a thousand times along the way.
