Melissa and Phil’s wedding was a dream from start to finish. I often say that there are two perfect weeks every year to be in New York, and the first week of November is one of them–it’s when it really starts to feel like fall in the city and everything seems just a little more romantic than it did before. Melissa and I were in different classes at the same time at Circle in the Square and had kept in touch throughout the years, so I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding. Everything about it had personal touches: Melissa worked for WeWork for many years and chose their Bryant Park location for their venue, Phil is a sous chef and made sure the menu was artful and delicious, and the guest list was intimate and family-focused. Every single guest was given an opportunity to toast the newlyweds, and they made the most of it. Melissa and Phil, thank you for having us. It was an honor.
